A 17-year-old girl identified simply as Favour who suffered severe spinal cord injury after she was brutally beaten and raped in the Agbarha Industrial area of Lagos state in April 2020, has finally died.
Non-Governmental Ogranization, DemiCare foundation, who has been following up the ittle girl’s case, shared the sad news on Twitter today November 25th.
Recall that in June this year, NescoMedia shared the sad story of how Favour was brutally beaten, raped, and left inside a drainage to die by a 28-year-old man identified as Robinson GodDay, in the Agbarha Industrial area of Lagos state on April 23. Read here
According to Favour’s aunt, Mary Bassey, the suspect had raped Favour in January. He was taken to the police station where he was made to write an undertaking vowing never to rape her again. However, Robinson in April, ambushed Favour again while she was returning from her job where she had done the night shift. He beat her up mercilessly, raped her and threw her into the drainage, causing her to sustain a life threatening spinal cord injury. She was found 2 days after the incident.
Favour had reportedly been in the hospital since then. Sadly, she gave up the ghost today.
Robinson has since been arrested.
