26-year-old woman dies of Lassa Fever in Ogun (photo)

A 26-year-old lady known as Titilayo Akinsola, has reportedly died of Lassa fever on Saturday January 25, 2020 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Idi-Aba community of Abeokuta, Ogun State. 

According to the hospital’s spokesman, Segun Orisajo who confirmed the death, told newsmen that series of tests carried out, showed that the deceased had Lassa fever. He also revealed that they did everything possible to save her life.

Orisajo said; 

“She (the victim) was rushed to the hospital four days ago and series of tests confirmed that she had Lassa fever. Our medical team did everything possible to save her life but unfortunately she died.”

Orisajo went on to allayed great fears of members of the public by saying that they are currently working with the state government to contain the spread of the deadly disease. Dr Tomi Coker, the Ogun State’s Commissioner for Health has also confirmed the development.
