The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man identified as Kayode Oladehinde for defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter and putting her in the family way.
According to reports, the suspect was nabbed following a complaint filed by the mother of the victim at Ogijo Divisional headquarters. Oladehinde was accused of giving the young girl a drug that left her bleeding profusely after he realized she was pregnant for him.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police Spokesman who confirmed Oladehinde’s arrest, also revealed that the incident happened on Tuesday, February 4th at Ogijo in Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
“Men of the Ogun State Police Command on 5th of February 2020 arrested one Kayode Oladehinde ‘m’ a resident of Olope Street Ogijo for defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter (name withheld).
“The suspect was arrested following a report from the mother of the victim who complained at Ogijo Divisional Headquarters that her daughter informed her on the 4th of February 2020 that the suspect, who is her present husband, sometimes recently forcefully had carnal knowledge of her as a result of which she got pregnant.”
The suspect who had no tangible reason for defiling his own stepdaughter, when confronted, only pleaded for forgiveness from his wife and his stepdaughter whom he defiled.
Kenneth Ebrimson, the state’s Commissioner of Police, has already ordered the transfer of Oladehinde to Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
