Not lesser than 6 people have been confirmed death and sixteen others injured after a massive sinkhole opened up and swallowed a bus and pedestrians in the city of Xining in Qinghai province in China.

According to reports, more than 1,000 emergency workers attended the scene of the incident at about 5.30 pm on Monday, January 13th and rescuers searched for 4 missing people, while the ones injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

From the photos of the road collapse, the vehicle almost entirely underground close to a bus-stop as people ran for safety.
The cause of the shocking incident is still under investigation according to the state-run broadcaster CCTV.

It should be recalled that back in 2016, at least 3 people fell into a massive sinkhole in central Henan province, which open up and swallowed a section of road and passersby. Also, in 2013, 5 people lost their lives when a 10m (33ft) wide sinkhole opened up at the gates of an industrial estate in Shenzhen, China.
