A 22-year-old US-based Nigerian Muslim lady identified as Folake Adebola has taken to Twitter to narrate how she was sent home from her job in Fort Worth, Dallas, for wearing a hijab.

Adebola who disclosed that she converted to muslim in August 2019 just before she started working at Chicken Express restaurant in October 2019, revealed that the day she was sent back home was the first time she wore the hijab to work.
She revealed that she had told her employer clearly that she was a Muslim before they employed her. Adebola who went ahead to post a short video of herself being confronted by her employer while pleading with him stating “It’s part of my religion… I felt like if I work here y’all could be able to accommodate my religion”, also stated that her employer sees things very differently as he said that the traditional Muslim headress is; “a different thing” and part of her “personal life out there”. According to her boss, it has “nothing to do with religion”.
