Ousted Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi has sued the Inspector General of Police, and the Director General of the Department of State Service, as he seeks release from detention.
Our source informed us that the deposed Emir has taken legal action against the heads of security outfits involved in his unlawful detention.
Following his dethronement, the former Emir was taken to Awe in Nasarawa State and has since been confined in an apartment in the town.
His lawyers have now filed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020 before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In the suit, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria solicited for an interim order releasing him from confinment.
