An accident involving a truck around Upper -Iweka , Onitsha in Anambra State , has led to the death of a pedestrian .

State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps , Andrew Kumapayi , has confirmed the incident .
The FRSC state commander said the accident , which occurred at 03 : 20 p . m ., was as a result of violation of speed limit and loss of control.
He said,
“ The fatal crash involving a Mack Truck with registration number DGE352 XA was caused by speed limit violation and loss of control.
“ According to an eyewitness , the truck lost control after the MCC pedestrian bridge and fell into the adjoining gutter , killing a pedestrian .”
Kumapayi , who said that the scene had been cleared , he advised motorists to drive within stipulated speed limits and shun all forms of reckless driving that could only lead to avoidable road mishaps .
